Course Description

Studying on the Certificate in Contemporary Living at University College Cork offers students a stimulating environment to develop the skills they need to play an active role in shaping their own futures. The CCL course provides the opportunity for students to develop their personal educational interests and to interact with a wide range of students from different courses within UCC. Students will have access to a range of learning supports such as adaptive technologies. Will have the opportunity to sit in on lectures in a subject of their choice and will have a work placement. Most importantly they will enjoy a third level education experience with the many other young adults who make up the student body of UCC.

Graduates of the CCL currently receive a National University of Ireland Certificate and FETAC Level 4/5 accreditation is being sought for the course. The CCL course is designed to equip graduates with a range of core transferable skills in communication, information technology and personal effectiveness. These skills combined with the work experience they will receive on the course, will enhance the graduates capacity for both independent living and employability.
